Segeln, Weinproben und Debatten? Dann auf zum International Debate Camp (IDC) in Porto, Portugal! Das Camp findet statt von 17. bis 24. Juli und steht unter dem Motto “learning, sharing, competing”. Ary Ferreira Da Cunha von der Sociedade de Debates Universidade do Porto (SdUdP) erklärt, wofür das steht: “Learning learning will be fostered not only by the trainings and the training debates, but also by lectures provided by faculty members, and will have emphasis on the theme „empowering citizenship“; sharing will be promoted in every aspect of the debate camp starting from registration where you will be asked to share your views on democracy and citizenship related issues that will generate an online debate even before the event starts; competition will not be contained in debates, it will be a part of all camp as you will become part of one of five teams that will compete against each other on small outdoor games, on the training debates and other challenges that we will propose you.”

Die Teilnahme am IDC kostet 150 Euro pro Person und schließe nicht nur Debattiertraining mit ein, sondern auch ein großartiges Freizeitprogramm mit Partys und Tagesausflügen, eine Weinprobe und Segeln, ein Turnier am Ende der Woche, gutes Essen und eine wunderschöne Kulisse,“ wie Ary das Cam bewirbt. Trainer beim IDC sind keine Geringeren als Maja Nenadovic (Gründerin und Mitbegründerin verschiedener Debattierclubs in Europa), Filip Muki Dobranić (Europameister 2010 und Vizeweltmeister 2011, beides ESL), Leela Koenig (Chefjurorin EUDC 2010, “deputy chief adjudicator“ EUDC 2009), Rhydian Morgan (Trainer bei diversen internationalen Debattiercamps in Europa, vor allem auf dem Balkan) und Anne Valkering (ESL-Weltmeisterin 2008, Cheforganisatorin der Amsterdam Euros 2010).
