“BP comes to BP”: That means an opportunity to participate in an extra tournament before Vienna IV 2012. The debating societies of Central European University and Corvinus University Budapest are going to host the first international tournament in Hungary from March 2 to 5.

Registration is already opened until January 10. To registrate, you need firstly to express your will to participate in an e-mail at budapestopen2012 [at] gmail [dot] com. After sending this e-mail, you are going to receive a registration form that have to be filled out and sent back. After that, you are going to receive a confirmation letter. The reg fee is € 50 and is due until January 31.

Teamcap is 40 teams. To keep the tournament as diverse as possible, the org com limits the number of teams to two for each institution. Please note: n-1 is cancelled, i.e. your judges are of course welcome, but you can also participate with teams only.

Chief Adjucator (CA) of Budapest Open is Art Ward, Deputy Chief Adjucators (DCAs) are Filip Muki Dobranic, Manos Moschopoulos, Stephen Boyle and Ben Woolgarthe nearly complete crew of the Belgrade Euros 2012.

The tournament website is still in progress, but you will find the latest news like tips how to get to Budapest on the Facebook group. In order to show your colours on your Facebook or Twitter profile photo, a tournament badge is already available. And if you wish to get a first or maybe a second impression of Budapest, you can visit the tournament-owned youtube channel.
