MDD 2012: Tobias Kube awarded best junior speaker

Tobias Kube from Marburg was awarded best junior speaker at this year's German language debating championship (Meisterschaft im deutschsprachigen Debattieren or MDD) in Vienna. This award is a cup engraved with the names of all former laureates. It is assigned by the German alumni debating society DDG (short for Deutsche Debattiergesellschaft) since 2004. First VDCH judge workshop 2011/2012 in Mainz

The Association of Debating Societies at Universities (VDCH) has announced the details on the first adjudication workshop in the current season 2011/2012. From February 4 to 5, judges with basic experience can deepen their analytical and feedback skill in the Rhineland-Palatinate capital Mainz. Trainers will be Andrea Gau (Mainz), Torsten Rössing (Halle), Pauline Leopold (Tübingen) and Lukas Haffert (Cologne). Both BPS and Open Parliamentary Debate (OPD)will be covered. Masters’ Cup 2011: Lukas Haffert may now call himself Master of the Masters

At the Masters' Cup in the famous fortress of Wartburg in the middle of the Thuringian Forest, Lukas Haffert defeated his competitors. His fellow finalists were Marietta Gädeke, Torsten Rössing and Marcus Ewald. Lukas may now call himself Master of the Masters. The exclusive tourney is hosted by Deutsche Debattiergesellschaft (DDG), the German alumni debating society. Debating League enters its second round

The second season of the Free Debating League begins with two new coordinators Daniil Pakhomenko and Manuel Adams who succeed Lukas Haffert, the former vice-president of the Association of Debating Societies at Universities, or VDCH. Sina Strupp – up and coming

Sina Strupp was awarded for being the most promising debater new on the German language deating circuit at the German Language Debating Championship in Heidelberg in June this year. Deutsche Debattiergesellschaft, the alumni debating society of Germany, grants this award every year to one of the up-and-coming debaters.
