Debating the motion “THB that nuclear weapons have made the world a safer place.”,<\/em> they defeated “Belgrade A” (Ilija Ivani\u0161evi\u0107<\/strong> and \u0110or\u0111e Jovi\u0107evi\u0107<\/strong>) in Opening Government, “UCD Law A”<\/span> (Adam Stairs<\/span><\/strong> and<\/span> Aodhan Peelo<\/span><\/strong>) in Closing Government and “Cambridge CK”<\/span> (George Clay<\/strong> and Muhammad Asadullah Khan<\/strong><\/span>) in Closing Opposition. The CA Team consisted of Olivia Sundberg Diez,\u00a0Matti Bryder and Michael\u00a0Dunn Goekjian.<\/span> The best VDCH teams were Octopocalypse (Vienna, Miri Muntean<\/strong> and Ingo Bandhauer<\/strong>) and Veni Vidi Whipi (Cologne, Artem Korchemsky<\/strong> and Frederic Tillmanns<\/strong>) with 8 teampoints. Breaking VDCH judges were Lennart Lokstein, Calyxx Peucker, Jan-Gunther Gosselke and Agnes Igneza.<\/p>\n

Motions: <\/span><\/p>\n

R1<\/strong>: THW ban all advertising of pharmaceutical and medical products to the public.\u00a0

R2<\/strong>: <\/span>In areas with high foreign language populations, THW use second language lessons in schools to teach the most commonly spoken language in that area<\/p>\n

(e.g. in areas with high Turkish populations in Germany, one would teach Turkish in classes currently focuses on learning English as a second language)<\/p>\n

R3<\/strong>: <\/span>Info Slide: A free trade zone is an area where barriers to trade are removed. This typically means no tariffs on trade, a ban on states supporting domestic industry over international and some degree of common regulation.<\/em><\/p>\n

THBT African states should create an all-Africa free trade zone.<\/p>\n

R4<\/strong>: THBT all museums should offer to return all exhibits to their country of origin.<\/span><\/p>\n

R5:<\/strong> TH, as Sweden, would pay countries near conflict zones to settle refugees rather than accepting new refugees in Sweden.<\/p>\n
