Winners of the Inner Temple IV 2017 – \u00a9 Michael Dunn Goejikan<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n
The team\u00a0Fulfilling MDG’s Virtue Signalling Quota<\/span>\u00a0<\/em>(Michael <\/strong>Dunn Goejikan<\/strong> & Muhammad Assadullah Khan<\/strong>) has won the final of the Inner Temple IV 2017. The motion was “This house supports a norm where adult children take in their elderly parents, even in cases where their parents have the financial means to support themselves.”<\/p>\n The final was judged by Steven Ramesh Rajavinothan\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0in chair, together with Tek Wei Tan, Ibrahim Steele, Mackenzie Tse, Bruce Weaver <\/b>and Penny S<\/b>.<\/p>\n Best speaker was Michael Dunn Goejikan<\/strong>\u00a0with an average of 84.25<\/em>\u00a0speaker points.<\/p>\n The Novice Final with the motion “This house supports President Obama’s decision to commute the sentence of Chelsea Manning” was won by\u00a0Middle Temple B\u00a0<\/em>(Josh Happ\u00e9,<\/strong> Sam Clarke<\/strong>) in Opening Government against the Opening Opposition Imperial MT<\/em> (Taief Miah, Mindy Chen<\/strong>), Closing Government Westminster B<\/em> (James Pycock, Sundus Ahmed<\/strong>) and Closing Opposition Imperial GX<\/em> (Gergely Patko, Xuan Chen<\/strong>) in a 3:2 split between OG and CO<\/span>.<\/p>\n The final was judged by Ruairidh Macintosh<\/strong>\u00a0(chair),\u00a0Ebony James, <\/strong>Steven Ramesh Rajaviothan\u00a0<\/strong>and two additional panel members.<\/p>\n Justin Graham<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0was\u00a0announced best novice speakers with an average of\u00a079.25<\/span><\/em> speaker points.<\/p>\n Best ESL speaker was\u00a0Sukhdev Singh Malhi<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>with an average of 77.75 speaker points\u00a0and the best ESL team was\u00a0Imperial MT.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n These teams broke into the open semi- finals:<\/p>\n CA’s of the Innter Temple IV – \u00a9 private<\/p><\/div>\n The Novice break:<\/p>\n The organizers of this years edition were Jake Armes, Helen Aline Ball <\/strong>and Oliver May<\/strong>. The CA team consisted out of\u00a0Steven Ramesh Rajavinothan, Mackenzie Tse and Teck Wei Tan and the tournament was held from\u00a0Friday 20th to Saturday 21st January.<\/p>\n The Motions: Rd 2<\/strong>: TH regrets the norm that encourages and expects young people to attend university<\/p>\n Rd 3<\/strong>: THW make people feel subconsciously guilty for not contributing significantly to alleviate suffering in the world<\/p>\n Rd 4<\/strong>:\u00a0 Infotext: Athletics has been plagued by doping allegations and issues, leading to a fall in popularity. However, in the last two Olympics Games (in London and Rio de Janeiro respectively) the Great Britain Athletics team has been very successful and has had no doping allegations or issues. \nRd 1<\/strong>: THBT leaders of groups that used violence should not take up significant government positions following the conflict.<\/p>\n
\nLord Sebastian Coe has found evidence that numerous British athletes who have competed in the British and\/or Rio Olympics games took performance-enhancing drugs. Some of these athletes won medals at one or both of these Olympics.
\nLord Coe knows for certain that:
\n1. he is the only person who has knowledge of this evidence;
\n2. if he were to destroy this evidence, that no other evidence relating to the British athletes who competed at the London and\/or Rio Olympic Games would ever be found; and
\n3. no British athletes are currently using, or will use at the next Olympic games, performance-enhancing drugs.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n
