The tournament at the World Schools Debate Academy 2017 was won on a 6 – 3 split desicion by Toronto 1<\/em>\u00a0(Gautam Manohar<\/strong>,\u00a0Adithya Chakravarthy<\/strong>,\u00a0Angela Li<\/strong>,\u00a0Andrei Comlosan Pop<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Mia Richmond<\/strong>; Canada) in Opposition on the motion “THBT developed nations should not recruit high skilled workers such as doctors and engineers from developing countries”.
\nThey debated in the final against the team\u00a0North European Trade Agreement<\/em>\u00a0(Sonia Meehan<\/strong>,\u00a0Leo Ohl<\/strong>,\u00a0Julius Schillinger<\/strong>,\u00a0Luesa Vallin<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Mariam Kojo<\/strong>; Finnland\/Germany).<\/p>\n

The final was adjudicated by\u00a0Duncan Crowe<\/strong> (c), Kristina Loayza<\/strong>, Jenny Tumas<\/strong>, Rok Hafner<\/strong>, Penny Sadeghi<\/strong> , Malvika Kala<\/strong>, Roel Becker<\/strong>, Elizabeta Korencan<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Peter Adamic<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Best speaker of the tournament – \u00a9 UTS Debate and Speech Society<\/p><\/div>\n

Best speaker of the tournament was\u00a0Adithya Chakravarthy<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>from Toronto 1 with a stunning average of 75.3 speaker points.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

WSDA is the international Worlds Schools Debate training program for debaters, teachers, coaches and judges being organised by Slovenian national debate organisation Za in proti, zavod za kulturo dialoga\/Pro et contra, Institute of culture of dialogue.
\n230 participants from almost 30 countries all over the world, including Peru, Canada, Great Britain, Italy, Finland, Bahrein, Malasia, South Korea, India, Qatar and Kazahstan, participated in this year’s edition. 2017 was the biggest edition of WSDA so far.<\/p>\n

The participants had the chance to choose between over 100 electives on debating strategy and content and afterwards use their newly gained information in 4 practice and 5 tournament debates for everybody. Overall the participants got 100 hours of debate theory, lectures and exercises.<\/p>\n

    Rd4:<\/strong>\u00a0This House supports \u00a0the\u00a0 use of \u201ceye in the sky\u201d policing in urban area with high crime rates.<\/p>\n

    Rd5:<\/strong>\u00a0THW prohibit Presidents\/Heads of State from having private social media accounts.<\/p>\n

    Quarter Finals:<\/strong>\u00a0THW ban all treatments and cosmetic surgeries that alters your ethnic appearance.<\/span><\/p>\n
