The team \u2018Made in the Diff<\/em>\u2019 (Becky Wesson<\/strong> and Emma Meadows<\/strong>, Cardiff) won the Swansea Open.\u00a0 They managed to win the final from Opening Opposition <\/em>defeating \u2018Swing B<\/em>\u2019 (Ieuan Skinner<\/strong> and Angus Rome<\/strong>, Swansea) in Opening Government<\/em>, \u2018Nid yw’n wir ein henw t\u00eem<\/em>\u2019 (Catrin Richards<\/strong>, formerly Liverpool, and Craig McDonald<\/strong>, formerly Cardiff) in Closing Government<\/em> and \u2018First Opp Caf\u00e9<\/em>\u2019 (Aristed Kore<\/strong>, formerly Durham – due to illness, John Lewis<\/strong> was not able to take part in the final) in Closing Opposition<\/em> on the motion \u2018Assuming this Technology exists, This House would ban memory erasure technology<\/em>\u2019.<\/p>\n

The final was judged by Ryan F. <\/strong>in the Chair, and Matthew Tuck<\/strong>, Nisha Telesford<\/strong>, Megan Thomas<\/strong>, and Katherine Gibaut<\/strong> on the panel.<\/p>\n

The top speaker of the tournament was Aristed Kore with an average of 80 speaker points.<\/p>\n

The Chief Adjudicators of the tournament were Ryan F. and Luke Kosky<\/strong>. The Swansea Open took place on February 3rd <\/sup>2018.<\/p>\n
