Congratulations to the winners of the MDX Open, \u2018When Everything Was Beautiful, and Nothing Hurt<\/em>\u2019 (Srishti Krishnamoorthy-Cavell<\/strong>, Cambridge, and Eitan Har-Oz<\/strong>, formerly The Hebrew University of Jerusalem). They won the final from Closing Government <\/em>defeating \u2018He thinks he’s the pro<\/em>\u2019 (Francesca Reynolds<\/strong>, UCL, and Greg Weaving<\/strong>, unaffiliated) in Opening Government<\/em>, \u2018LSE Bramworth<\/em>\u2019 (Josh Ashworth<\/strong> and Daniel Bramble<\/strong>) in Opening Opposition<\/em>, and \u2018Basic White Girl and Token Male<\/em>\u2019 (Rachel O\u2019Nunain<\/strong> and Louis Collier<\/strong>, Oxford) in Closing Opposition <\/em>on the motion \u2018This House believes that the pursuit of social mobility is doing more harm than good<\/em>\u2019.<\/p>\n

The final was judged by Nisha Telesford<\/strong> in the chair, and Craig McDonald<\/strong>, Bailey Reid<\/strong>, Tom Redgrave, <\/strong>and Alena Bell-Gam<\/strong> on the panel.<\/p>\n

The top speaker of the tournament was Louis Collier with an average of 81.75.<\/p>\n
