Chief-adjudicated by Yair Har-Oz<\/strong>, Shrishty Krishnamoorthy<\/strong> and Harish Natarajan<\/strong>, the tournament was won by the team Michael and Desmond<\/em> (Michael Dunn-Goekjan<\/strong> and Desmond Fairall<\/strong>, OO) against If you can’t beat them, join them<\/em> (Floris Holstege<\/strong> and Tom Manor<\/strong>, OG), Break ou Gr\u00e8ve<\/em> (Martin Devenney<\/strong> and Nissrine Majdi<\/strong>, CG), and Wild Chicken University Z<\/em> (Jacob Lan<\/strong> and Joseph Xiao Liang<\/strong>, CO on the motion \u2018This House believes that Wakanda should transition into a democracy.\u2019<\/em> (with infoslide). The panel judging this final consisted of Shristi Krishnamoorthy (chair), Oskar Sherry<\/strong>, Druhva Bath<\/strong>, Ioana Branga-Peicu<\/strong> and Huyen Nguyen<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The ESL Final was won by All your mechs are belong to us<\/em> (Uzair Tajuddin<\/strong> and Patricia Walter<\/strong>) against PRC – People’s Republic of Coimbra<\/em> (Andr\u00e9 Carvalho<\/strong> and Diogo Videira<\/strong>), Southeast Pride<\/em> (Trieu Le<\/strong> and Cinantyan Punjung Prapatti<\/strong>) and All in the Family<\/em> (Dafna Haran<\/strong> and Dan Haran<\/strong>) on the motion This House supports the Haussmann reconstruction of Paris<\/em> (with infoslide).<\/p>\n

Semi finals were judged by Huyen Nguyen (chair), Yair Har-Oz and Ioana Branga-Peicu (semi 1) and Olivia Sundberg-Diez<\/strong> (chair), Daniel Maier-Gant<\/strong> and Liv Rutkowska<\/strong> (semi 2).<\/p>\n

The Top Speaker of the tournament was Michael Dunn-Goekjan, with an average of 84. Best ESL speaker was Luc\u00eda Arce<\/strong> (82.8), best novice speaker Trieu Le (74).<\/p>\n

R1:<\/strong> This House regrets the awarding of the Nobel prize for chemistry to Fritz Haber.
\nInfoslide: Fritz Haber created the Haber-Bosch process, that allows the conversion of Nitrogen in the air into Ammonia which can then be used for fertilizer. The discovery has fed billions of people around the world. Haber was also a war criminal, creating Chlorine gas to be used by his native Germany during World War I. After the war, he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Chemistry, for the Haber-Bosch process.<\/em><\/p>\n

R2:<\/strong> This house believes that liberal democracies should aggressively fund mainstream media outlets
\n(eg. The New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Guardian and Haaretz).<\/p>\n

R3:<\/strong> This house regrets the culture of casual sex.<\/p>\n
