They debated the final on the motion &#8220;This House believes that the state should curb assortative mating&#8221; against\u00a0<em>Yale CP\u00a0<\/em>(<b>Ko Lyn Cheang, Lorenzo Pinasco<\/b>) in Opening Opposition,\u00a0<em>Brandeis\/Northeastern SS<\/em>\u00a0(<strong>Ravi Simon, Dennis Su<\/strong>) in\u00a0Closing Government, and\u00a0<em>Rochester FO\u00a0<\/em>(<b>Ben Frazer, Warish Orko<\/b>) in Closing\u00a0Opposition.<\/p>\n<p>The final was chaired by <b>Buzz Klinger\u00a0<\/b>with\u00a0<strong>Alexander Beaumont, Allie McGowan, Dan Yoon, Daniel Berman, Shani Bennett,<\/strong> and<strong> Steph White.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Novice Final of the tournament was won by <em>Cornell CJ<\/em><i>\u00a0<\/i>(<b>Carson Crane, Amaar Jeyasothy<\/b>) in Opening Opposition, on the motion &#8220;This House would allow the creation of Savior Siblings.&#8221; They debated against <i>Harvard HR\u00a0<\/i>(<strong>Maya Razmi, Delaney Hurley<\/strong>)\u00a0in Opening Government, <i>Hart House AN\u00a0<\/i>(<strong>Matt Aydin, Jonathan Nahmiach<\/strong>) in Closing Government, and\u00a0<em>Patrick Henry BW<\/em>\u00a0(<strong>Gabe Blacklock, Hannah Westfallen<\/strong>) in Closing Opposition.<\/p>\n<p>The round was chaired by <strong>Daniel Berman\u00a0<\/strong>with redacted,<strong> Nathaniel Carlsen, Graeme McGuire, Jan Hovden, <\/strong>and<strong> Emily Saeli <\/strong>in the panel.<\/p>\n<p>The best speaker with an average of 82.67 was Aditya Dhar\u00a0from\u00a0<em>Harvard DP. Harvard DP\u00a0<\/em>was the top seed and Aditya and Tejal were the top two speakers of the tournament.<br \/>\nThe best novice speaker with an average of 80.5 was <strong>Hemanth Bharatha Chakravarthy<\/strong> from <em>Harvard BH.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The CA team consisted of <strong>Dan Lahav, <\/strong>Stephanie White,<strong> Ameera Moore<\/strong>, and <strong>Fanele Mashwam<\/strong>a.<\/p>\n<p>The tournament was organized by the\u00a0HWS Debate Team. <strong>Chuan-Zheng Lee<\/strong> was in tab with <strong>Eric Barnes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Open
