The Budapest Open 2019 saw the teams in Closing Government sweeping both final rounds, with De grootse Nederlands-Servische alliantie<\/em> (Janko Djordjevic,<\/strong> Floris Holstege<\/strong>;Belgrade\/Leiden) winning the crown on the motion “This house regrets the narrative that forgiveness is a virtue”. Against them were Autinzam i renesansa<\/em> (Tin Pulji\u0107<\/strong>,\u00a0Ilija Ivani\u0161evi\u0107<\/strong>; Zagreb\/Belgrade) in Opening Government, Velika Srpsko-Holandska Alijansa<\/em> (Milo\u0161 Marjanovic,<\/strong>\u00a0David Metz<\/strong>; Belgrade\/Leiden) in Opening Opposition, and\u00a0One More Serbian Team<\/em> (Djordje Radisavljevic,<\/strong>\u00a0Marta Vasic<\/strong>; Belgrade) in Closing Opposition. The open final was chaired by Roy Schulman<\/strong>, with a panel of Emily Frizell,\u00a0Razzaq Bin, Daan Spackler,\u00a0<\/strong>and redacted.<\/p>\n In the novice final, Speachbenders<\/em> (Mira Eberdorfer,<\/strong> Marina Kojic<\/strong>; Vienna) reigned on the motion that “This house supports the creation of a global citizenship market”. Ending the tournament as novice finalists were\u00a0Trump University A<\/em> (Pavle Milojkovic,\u00a0Luka Jovetic<\/strong>; Belgrade) in Opening Government,\u00a0\u00a0BOUN Biggus Dickus<\/em> (Ruveyda Sahyar,\u00a0Arda Duman<\/strong>; Istanbul) in Opening Opposition, and\u00a0Hands of Svarog<\/em> (Pavle Mackic,\u00a0Katarina Jeremic<\/strong>; Belgrade) in Closing Opposition.
