In the grand final, they spoke in Closing Opposition on the motion “THBT the scientific community should reject the notion of ‘non-overlapping magisteria’ “. Speaking against them were Bristol\u00a0<\/em>(Timothy Lo, Ron Leizrowice<\/strong>) in Opening Government, Edinburgh (C)lutchies<\/em> (Jason Woods, Cerys Walsh<\/strong>) in Opening Opposition, and TCD Hist Ayyy lmao<\/em> (Caoimhin Hamill, Jack Synnott<\/strong>) in Closing Government. The Grand Final was chaired by Alicja Filbier<\/strong> together with Anasuya Narasimhan, Dani Georgiev, Olja Bosnjak<\/strong> and Suzanne Elliott.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The top speaker was Ciara Mitchell with an average of 82.4 speaker points.

The St Petersburg Online Open was convened by the St Petersburg Debate Foundation and hosted July 4 – July 5th 2020 over Google Meet & Discord. 60 teams competed, breaking to Open Quarterfinals. The outrounds were filmed and are currently being uploaded to Youtube<\/a>. The Chief Adjudication Panel included Hadar Goldberg, Tudor Musat, Milla Huuskonen, and Rachel O’Nunain.
