The tournament starts today well after lunch at 1 p.m., which lets the teams from all over Germany travel to Frankfurt conveniently.<\/p>\n<p>Fifteen teams of debaters from Berlin, Bonn, Dortmund, Jena, Heidelberg, Karlsruhe, Mainz, Munich, M\u00fcnster, Paderborn, Potsdam, Stuttgart and T\u00fcbingen are going to compete for the Schobbe-Cup 2010. The style of debate is the well spread German format <em>Offene Parlamentarische Debatte<\/em> (OPD, open parliamentary debate).<\/p>\n<p>Today will see three preliminary rounds while tonight awaits the debaters with socials at Caf\u00e9 KoZ and a midnight debate. Sunday is going to stage semis and the final round. Chief adjudicators are <strong>Pauline Leopold <\/strong>(Streitkultur T\u00fcbingen) and <strong>Florian Prischl<\/strong> (Debattierklub Vienna).<\/p>\n<p>Why the name Schobbe-Cup? Such tournaments are a Hessian tradition where in friendly sports competitions the participants are catered with the typical cider. Of course, there will be no lack of a good supply of <em>ebbelwoi<\/em> at this tournament!
