After DebattierClub St. Gallen had to cancel their plans to host the SDM – due to an international conference they have no rooms for prelims – Debattierclub Bayreuth (DCBT) will now fill in for the Swiss to save the competition for the southern part of German speaking debate societies. On his blog, Manos Moschopoulos compiled unofficial tabs for ESL and EFL respectively for the World Universities Debating Championships (WUDC or Worlds). He did so based on data provided by Leela Koenig, judge at Botswana Worlds, and the competition's language committee. So far, official ESL and EFL tabs have not yet been published by the adjudication team of CA Logandran Balavijendran. Im schönen schwabinger Altstadthaus der evangelischen Studierendengemeinde begann die Süddeutsche Meisterschaft (SDM) gut gestimmt und mit einem geographisch passenden Thema zum Schutz der Alpen. Ein ungewöhnlicher Luxus der SDM war dabei das riesige Jurorenfeld. Schon in den Vorrunden wurde jede Debatte von einer Jury aus fünf Personen bewertet. Das führte nicht nur zu gutem Feedback, sondern auch zu gefühltem Reden vor Publikum bereits ab der ersten Runde.
