Bristol IV 2010
Bristol Debating Union is inviting speakers and judges to the Bristol IV 2010. Their slogan reads „Don't pretend you don't want another chance to practise for Worlds”. The tournament takes place on 10 and 11 December and is hence a perfect opportunity to get some short term exercise for the World University Debating Championships (WUDC, a.k.a. Worlds) in Botswana. Leeds IV 2011
The University of Leeds will be the venue of the Leeds IV 2011. The tournament will be held on 12 and 13 March 2011, debating style is BPS. The debaters will run through five preliminary rounds with seven minute speeches. Sunday will stage semi finals and finals. Chief adjudicator is Doug Cochran from Cambridge University, well known to those who had been at the Euros recently where he functioned as deputy chief adjudicator. A few spots left for SOAS IV
There are a few spots left for SOAS IV, the Debating Society of the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) invites to the School of Oriental and African Studies Inter-Varsity Debating Competition (SOAS IV) on the 16th-17th October.
As the SOAS IV's organizers wrote to Achte Minute, so far 120 teams have registered, and there is space for 30 more teams. Already, this year, teams from 10 different countries will be taking part in the tournament - also teams from VDCH debating societies. On Friday evening the SOAS team will be running a training workshop for international teams.

Defying the Sheriff of Nottingham – at least rhetorically? Then let’s roll with Nottingham Trent IV! The Debating Society of Nottingham Trent University invites speakers and adjudicators to their tournament on 15 January 2011. It starts with registration early in the morning at 9 a.m. Chief adjudicator is going to be Tim Lees. You pay 10 British Pound, but you get much more: socials on Friday and Saturday as well as crash – so don’t leave your sleeping bags at home! Format of debate is British Parliamentary Style. SOAS IV 2010
Debating in London: The Debating Society of the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) invites to the School of Oriental and African Studies Inter-Varsity Debating Competition (SOAS IV) on the 16th-17th October 2010.
The Tournament will comprise six in-rounds in the British Parliamentary format followed by quarter-finals and the grand final, which will take place before an audience of debaters from across Europe, as well as students and faculty members from SOAS.
In 2009, the SOAS IV was attended by 100 teams representing 9 countries. Douglas Cochran a distinguished debater from Cambridge University will be this year's Chief Adjudicator.

Eines der berühmtesten Intervarsities (Hochschulturniere) im Debattieren ist das Oxford IV, zu dem die Oxford Union jedes Jahr im November hunderte Debattierer und Debattiererinnen empfängt. Wie sollte es anders sein: Auch 2010 wird ein Oxford IV ausgetragen, diesmal am 12. und 13. November. Als Chefjuroren konnte die Oxford Union Shengwu Li (u.a. Europameister), Ben Jasper und Jo Farmer (beide EUDC-Finalisten) gewinnen. Die Anmeldung eröffnet für nichtbritische Teams am 1. August. Cambridge IV 2010
Parallel zur Baden-Württembergischen Meisterschaft wird das Cambridge IV 2010 ausgetragen. 100 Teams treten am Freitag, 19. und Samstag, 20. November dort an - und machen das Intervarsity zu einem der größten Debattierturniere Europas. Es gibt fünf Vorrunden, gebreakt wird ins Viertelfinale beziehungsweise für Nichtmuttersprachler (ESL) ins ESL-Halbfinale. Als Chefjuroren konnten die beiden Weltmeisterschaftsfinalisten Art Ward und Daniel Warents gewonnen werden.
Die Teilnahme kostet 80 Britische Pfund (umgerechnet etwa 97 Euro), im Betrag enthalten sind Übernachtung im "Crash"-Modus (Schlafsack, Isomatte mitbringen), Frühstück und Getränke. Zusätzlich kann für 20 Pfund pro Team noch ein ...
