Cork IV 2011

Keen on Ireland after Galway Euros? Well, then, off you go to the Cork IV in the south of the Emerald Isle. On December 2 and 3, debaters will compete in debates on motions by chief adjudicators (CA) Art Ward and Doug Cochran. Art is going to be CA at Belgrade Euros next year, Doug will be CA-ing the Worlds in Berlin. Both Art and Doug do have a reputation as both speakers and as judges.

Registration is free for international teams while it is 75 Euros for IONA teams where IONA stands for Islands of the North Atlantic. Free as well are judges. The team cap is 80. Becky West, convener of the Cork IV, promised to Achte Minute that crash will be provided for all international teams – just mention your need for accommodation when registering from September 20 on via iv [at] uccphilosoph [dot] com!

The Cork IV offers five prelims and a break to semis. On top of this, there will be a novice final. Meals include a Christmas dinner and free drinks at socials on Friday and Saturday night. Traditional curtain raiser to the Cork IV will be the Cork Invitational on the previous night.
