Berlin wins ZEIT DEBATTE Karlsruhe

Great start into the ZEIT DEBATTEN season 2011/2012 for Berlin Debating Union. Their speakers Georg Sommerfeld, Patrick Ehmann and Johannes Häger won the ZEIT DEBATTE's final against Marco Niedermaier, Lukas Windhager and Almut Graebsch who were competing for Debattierclub München. Georg Sommerfeld was the best speaker of the final. The motion was: Do we need the United Staates of Europe? The final was completed by the free speakers Willy Witthaut (Mainz), Sven Hirschfeld (Heidelberg) and Irene Adamski (Halle). The German Debating Championship about to start in Heidelberg

Heidelberg calling: Debaters from all places on the German language debating circuit assemble by the river Neckar to compete for the title at German Nationals, or Deutsche Debattiermeisterschaft (DDM). 45 Teams from 34 debating societies follow the call of Debating Club Heidelberg: Aachen, Bayreuth, Berlin, Bonn, Dortmund, Dresden, Frankfurt, Freiburg, Göttingen, Graz, Halle, Hamburg, Heidelberg, Ingolstadt, Jena, Karlsruhe, Kiel, Köln, Leipzig, Magdeburg, Mainz, Marburg, Mannheim, München, Münster, Potsdam, Salzburg, Stuttgart, St. Gallen, Tübingen, Wien and Zürich. Anmeldung zur 11. Deutschen Meisterschaft eröffnet

Registration for the German Debating Championship is open from now on! Debating societies which are members of VDCH (Verband der Debattierclubs an Hochschulen, engl. Association of Debating Societies at Universities) are allowed to register their teams for the biggest annual debating tournament in Germany. Teams from Germany itself, Switzerland, Austria and maybe even Italy are expected to participate. Registration details are published online, see www.ddm-heidelberg.de. The German Debating Championship will be staged in Heidelberg from 9 to 12 June 2011. Review on BaWü 2010 Heidelberg is going to be stage to the German Debating Championship (DDM) 2011, so many debaters in Germany see the Baden-Württembergian Open (BaWü) 2010 as a kind of dress rehearsal for DDM 2011. But superstitious minds in Germany have it that traditionally the dress rehearsal has to be a terrible disaster – if the real event shall be fine. However, neither the grouches nor the superstitious could find anything to mock about at BaWü 2010 last weekend. Europa an erster Stelle - Zum fünften Mal lud der Debating Club Heidelberg zur SchulmeisterschaftBereits zum fünften Mal veranstaltete der Debating Club Heidelberg (DCH) am vergangenen Montag die Schulmeisterschaft im Debattieren der Metropolregion Rhein-Neckar. In diesem Jahr traten Schülerinnen und Schüler im Alter von 15 bis 18 Jahren des Helmholtz Gymnasiums Heidelberg, des Johann Sebastian Bach Gymnasiums Mannheim, und des Theodor Heuss Gymnasiums Ludwigshafen, gegeneinander an. Der Debating Club Heidelberg hat einen neuen Vorstand

Drei junge Frauen stehen dem Debating Club Heidelberg (DCH) seit 27. April vor. Die Mitgliederversammung des Vereins wählte die bisherige stellvertretende Vorsitzende Maike Jung zur Ersten Vorsitzenden. An ihrer Seite steht zukünftig die frischgebackene Süddeutsche Vizemeisterin Kristina Seebacher als Zweite Vorsitzende. Gemeinsam mit ihnen wird Jennifer Holm als Schatzmeisterin den Club leiten. Der DCH dankte den scheidenden Vorstandsmitgliedern Yin Cai und Stefan Bräumer für ihre hervorragende Arbeit im vergangenen Jahr. Dem neuen Vorstand herzlichen Glückwunsch! Viel Erfolg bei der Arbeit für den DCH, die Baden-Württembergische Meisterschaft 2010 und das Debattieren!
