The Southern German championship (SDM) 2011 will be staged in Bayreuth. After DebattierClub St. Gallen had to cancel their plans to host the SDM – due to an international conference they have no rooms for prelims – Debattierclub Bayreuth (DCBT) will now fill in for the Swiss to save the competition for the southern part of German speaking debate societies. 32 teams found themselves in tropical heat - far above 32 Celsius - when they gathered in Cologne, Germany for the Tilbury House Summer Open on the first weekend in July. Am Dienstag, 2. März, wird im schweizerischen St.Gallen zum dritten Mal eine Showdebatte zwischen Professoren und Studenten ausgetragen. Um 20.15 Uhr messen sich drei Mitglieder des VDCH-Clubs DebatingClub St. Gallen mit der "Creme de la Creme der Professoren" (so der DC St. Gallen): Günter Müller-Stewens, Ulrike Landfester, Anne van Aaken. Es werden zwei Themen zur Wahl gestellt, wobei sich das Publikum für eines entscheiden kann: "Steuerflucht ist Notwehr" oder "Schwiizerdütsch verpflichtend für alle".
