Mihhail Jevdokimov and Robert Ustian won Kyiv Open 2010. The two debaters from Tallinn and Moskau prevailed as team Estonished by Abkhasian opposing the motion “This House believes the Ukraine should kindly ask the Russian Fleet to leave the country”. Their opponents in the final where Raz v Nedelju (Opening Gov., Maxim Zhbankov and Sergej Kostenko), Clockwork Orange (Opening Opp., Anna Miritskaya and Ekaterina Lyubetskaya) und Beauty & Kate (Closing Gov., Ekaterina Filyurina and Vitaly Grib). The CA team consisted of Jens Fischer (Berlin Debating Union), Anne Valkering and Eugene Akulich. The complete Kyiv Open tab is available online. 

And here are the motions of Kyiv Open 2010:

  • Round 1: This House believes Iran has the right to develop nuclear weapons.
  • Round 2: This House would not punish persons that have killed their abusive spouse.
  • Round 3: This House believes countries that have been at war with each other should have legal power to challenge each others school history books.
  • Round 4: This House would ban street parades of militant groups that collaborated with the Nazis during WW II.
  • Round 5: This House would recognize the independence of Trans-Dniestria.
  • Semis: This House would deny the right of return to refugees who were engaged in combat.
  • Final: This House believes the Ukraine should kindly ask the Russian fleet to leave the country.
