Have you ever been to Kyiv? The Kyiv Open is to be held the 5th time this year on september 28 to 30. It is hosted by the Ukrainian Youth non-governmental organization Debate Academy. Language of the tournament by the river Dnieper is English, the format will be BPS. Registration fees are 15 Euros for members of the Ukrainian Debate Academy, 30 Euros for all other debaters and 15 Euros for judges. Potsdam won Kyiv Open

перемогли!That's Ukrainian and means "Won!" Uuuhmm... Since when does Achte Minute teach Ukrainian? Since Moritz Kirchner and Mathias Hamann from Wortgefechte Potsdam won the Kyiv Open. They defeated their opponents on the final motion "This house believes that even in an oppressive state citizens should not use violence as a force of opposition."

Mihhail Jevdokimov and Robert Ustian win Kyiv Open

Mihhail Jevdokimov and Robert Ustian won Kyiv Open 2010. The two debaters from Tallinn and Moskau prevailed as team Estonished by Abkhasian opposing the motion "This House believes the Ukraine should kindly ask the Russian Fleet to leave the country". Their opponents in the final where Raz v Nedelju (Opening Gov., Maxim Zhbankov and Sergej Kostenko), Clockwork Orange (Opening Opp., Anna Miritskaya and Ekaterina Lyubetskaya) und Beauty & Kate (Closing Gov., Ekaterina Filyurina and Vitaly Grib). Kyiv Open 2010

Von 17. bis 19. September wird zum dritten Mal das Kyiv Open in Ukraines Hauptstadt ausgetragen. Jens Fischer (Berlin Debating Union) ist Chefjuror, an seiner Seite im Chefjurorenteam sind Anne Valkering und Eugene Akulich. Das Turnier wird in englischer Sprache und dem Debattierformat BPS ausgetragen, 40 Teams können antreten. Geplant sind fünf Vorrunden mit Break ins Halbfinale. Die Anmeldung ist von 1. August bis 4. Kyiv Spring abgesagt

Oleksiy Yatsenko vom Orgateam des Kyiv Spring hat am Dienstag nach Ostern mitgeteilt, dass das auch auf der Achten Minute für das erste Maiwochenende angekündigte Turnier Kyiv Spring 2010 abgesagt werden muss. Über die Gründe dafür, dass das Turnier nicht wie geplant stattfinden kann, ist der Redaktion nichts bekannt.

Kyiv Spring 2010

Kyiv Spring 2010 Im achten Jahr in Folge findet das Kyiv Spring Debattierturnier statt. Von 1. bis 3. Mai gilt es in der ukrainischen Hauptstadt fünf Vorrunden im Format BPS zu überstehen. Die bestbewertetsten Teams dürfen dann Halbfinals und das Finale bestreiten. Die Teilnahme kostet 25 Euro pro Redner/in, wer zum jurieren kommt ist mit 15 Euro dabei. Die Organisatoren bieten einfache Privatschlafplätze ("Crash") oder Unterstützung bei der Hostelsuche an. Die Anmeldung ist von 1. März bis 1. April auf der Homepage des Kiyv Spring möglich.
