Streitkultur Berlin debates politicians
While most debaters were still recovering form the WUDC-fever, another debating highlight took place in Berlin: on Januray 16th politics and competitive debating clashed. Streitkultur Berlin hosted an event where they debated professional politicians. The motion before the house was:" Should journalisim be publicly funded?"

This is an article about the German Senior League in Schools Debating. This league is annually staged by the Debating Society Germany (DSG) in Würzburg. Marcus Ewald travelled to the Franconian town where he presented the Association of Debating Societies at Universities (VDCH). Bayreuth saves the SDM!
The Southern German championship (SDM) 2011 will be staged in Bayreuth. After DebattierClub St. Gallen had to cancel their plans to host the SDM – due to an international conference they have no rooms for prelims – Debattierclub Bayreuth (DCBT) will now fill in for the Swiss to save the competition for the southern part of German speaking debate societies.
However, accommodating debaters appropriately makes it necessary to reschedule that tournament: Debaters from southern Germany, Austria, Switzerland and northern Italy will have to come to Bayreuth on the weekend of 9 and 10 April. Usually being held simultaneously, the other regional ...

Munich wins BaWü 2010

On travelling to a very remote area – That was ZEIT DEBATTE Greifswald
“How far have you travelled?“is the starting sentence into any kind of conversation this weekend. It is the kick-off into the new season of ZEIT DEBATTEN series at Greifswald. Flirts, smalltalk - they all start with the "How long did it take you to get here" question. Indeed, the Hanseatic town by the Bodden, a bay at the Baltic Sea, is located in quite a remote area. However, about 65 debaters found their ways to Greifswald. Many of them split their journey - it took them a two-day's travel via Berlin or Hamburg to get to Meck-Pomm.

Jens Fischer won the Masters' Cup 2010 of Deutsche Debattiergesellschaft (DDG), the German Debating Society for Alumni. Neuer Vorstand in Frankfurt/Main
Der Debattierclub Goethes Faust Frankfurt am Main (DCGF) hat einen neuen Vorstand gewählt. Dem Club wird künftig der bisherige Vizepräsident und amtierende Westdeutsche Vizemeister Willy Witthaut als Präsident vorstehen. Vizepräsidentin ist Marion Seiche, Vizepräsidenten sind Benjamin Jungkind und Nils Zimmermann.
Die Gründungspräsidentin des DCGF, Anja Pfeffermann, verlässt Frankfurt, um in Bayreuth zu promovieren.
Dem neuen Vorstand herzlichen Glückwunsch zur Wahl und viel Erfolg bei der Arbeit!
