FDL: Berlin wins Dresden tournament / Mainz top FDL team
Georg Sommerfeld and Bruno Davids of Berlin Debating Union (BDU) won Saggsn Masders 2012, a tournament in the Saxonian capital Dresden. Georg was also awarded best speaker of the final. The other final teams were from Mainz (Willy Witthaut and Betty Braun) and of BDU: Sarah von Kaminietz and Martin Funck, and Hauke Blume and Marijana Todorovich).

Regional Championships 2012: Where the societies are ging to compete
Simeon Reusch, VDCH vice-president knows the answer:
South: Debating soieties from Switzerland, Austria, Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria
Central: Deb socs from Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Saarland and Thuringia
North: Deb socs from Berlin, Brandenburg, Bremen, Hamburg, Mecklenburg-West Pomerania, Lower Saxony, Northrhine-Westphalia und Schleswig-Holstein
Chief adjudicators for the tourneys from 21 to 22 April are:
Marcus Ewald and Jan Lüken, for the South, to be held in Ingolstadt
Benedikt Nufer and Michael Saliba, for the North, to be held in Kiel
Pauline Leopold and Clemens Lechner, for the Center, to be held in Jena
Language of debate is German, all competitions will be held in the format of BPS.

Benedikt Nufer now president of VDCH / Tom-Michael Hesse, Simeon Reusch and Philipp Stiel his deputies
The general assembly of VDCH (the Association of Debating Societies at Universities) elected a new president and his deputies: Benedikt Nufer, Tom-Michael Hesse, Simeon Reusch and Philipp Stiel constitute the new VDCH executive board.
Benedikt has already been part of the executive bord last year. He is a member of the debating society at Hamburg University where he works on his Ph.D. thesis in history.
Simeon Reusch will be in charge of the German debating tournament series ZEIT DEBATTEN for the forthcoming year. He is doing his Bachelor studies in Philosophy and Politics in Halle where ...

Overview: German Regional Championships 2011
The regional championships will take place from 16 to 17 April 2011 with exception of the South German Championship which will be held one week earlier.The Northern regionals will be hosted by Debattierclub Osnabrück, a society still not much older than a year. Convener of the Southern regionals is going to be Debattierclub Bayreuth which is located in Franconia. Host of the Eastern regionals will be Klartext Halle, acting Eastern regional champion and German debating champion of 2008. On travelling to a very remote area – That was ZEIT DEBATTE Greifswald
“How far have you travelled?“is the starting sentence into any kind of conversation this weekend. It is the kick-off into the new season of ZEIT DEBATTEN series at Greifswald. Flirts, smalltalk - they all start with the "How long did it take you to get here" question. Indeed, the Hanseatic town by the Bodden, a bay at the Baltic Sea, is located in quite a remote area. However, about 65 debaters found their ways to Greifswald. Many of them split their journey - it took them a two-day's travel via Berlin or Hamburg to get to Meck-Pomm.

Die Presse berichtet, die Clubs erzählen. Hier schon ein paar Stimmen zu den VDCH-Regionalmeisterschaften 2010.
"Der Westen", das Internetportal der WAZ-Mediengruppe, berichtet über die Westdeutsche Meisterschaft (WDM) und das Debattieren an sich. Der Journalist Thomas Mader hat sich bei der WDM eine Vorrunde angeschaut. In dem Artikel "Reden ist Gold bei der Debattiermeisterschaft" schreibt er:

Regionalmeister 2010: Tilbury House Köln, Berlin Debating Union, Klartext Halle und Debating Club St. Gallen!
Köln, Berlin, Halle und St. Gallen sind die VDCH-Regionalmeister 2010.
Die Finaldebatten der Regios zum Thema "Dieses Haus glaubt: Es gibt kein Urheberrecht in der Literatur" wurden parallel am Sonntagnachmittag in Dortmund, Hannover, Ilmenau und München ausgetragen. Die Finalisten hatten sich in den Halbfinals zum Thema "Dieses Haus fordert die Kopfpauschale im Gesundheitssystem" durchgesetzt.
Bei der Westdeutschen Meisterschaft 2010 im Dortmunder Rathaus konnte die Schließende Opposition überzeugen: Assen Kochev und Tillman Schrammel von Tilbury Hous Köln sind Westdeutscher Meister 2010.
