Streitkultur Cup 2010 – A review

Mainz won Streitkultur Cup 2010
Marc Lenzke, Marcus Ewald and Isabelle Loewe (DC Bonn) won the prestigious Streitkultur Cup in Tübingen. They defeated as team for Debattierclub Johannes Gutenberg Mainz (DCJG) another DCJG team consisting of Sina Strupp, Jan Papsch and Nicolas Eberle. The final was completed by the three Free Speakers Lea Weitekamp (Bonn), Hauke Blume (Berlin) and Wladi Jachtschenko (München). Judges of the final were Mario Dießner, Jenny Bachmann (Karlsruhe) and Daniel Grotzky (München/Zürich), president was Gudrun Lux (Mainz/Bonn).
The motions were:
Round 1: Sollen Volksentscheide bei Großprojekten verpflichtend werden?
Round 2: Soll die Pressefreiheit bei Terrorgefahr eingeschränkt werden?
Round 3: Brauchen wir wieder Militärparaden in Deutschland?

The German Debating Circuit is on the way to Tübingen
Nothing less than the most prestigious club title is at stake: This weekend, over 100 debaters from Germany, Switzerland and Austria will converge on the small college-town of Tübingen for the Streitkultur-Cup, the open club championship of Streitkultur Tübingen. On Saturday, 27 teams of three debaters will face off in three preliminary rounds to take one of the two spots in the final (or one of the three spots for single speakers), taking place in the evening. Traditionally, the final takes place in the Old Anatomical Building. Streitkultur-Cup uses the Open Parliamentary Debate (OPD) format developed in Tübingen.

Streitkultur Tübingen announced the chief adjudicators of Steitkultur Cup: Mario Dießner of Wortgefechte Potsdam and Christoph Krakowiak, Streitkultur Berlin's president, will be in charge.
Until November 14th, you may register for Streitkultur Cup, a German-language debating tournament held in OPD style. Please send an e-mail to vorstand[at]streitkultur.net and let your host know how many teams your institution is going to send to the tournament. Registration fees are 10 Euros and a limited number of crash will be available, others will be asked to care for their own accommodation. Mixed teams of all kind are welcome at the Streitkultur Cup 2010. That comprises novices and experienced speakers, male and female debaters, and even debaters from different institutions. The most renowned open competition on the German speaking debating circuit will take place on 11 December in Tübingen and will be held in the format of OPD (open parliamentary debate, a format developed by the hosting society), hence teams of three may now register via vorstand[at]streitkultur.net.

Gutenberg-Cup 2010 Pickings 1
The Gutenberg Cup 2010 tab is online, and the first credits of the free debating league (FDL) are listed. Thus, first pickings on the competition hosted by the Debattierclub Johannes Gutenberg Mainz (DCJG) are presented here.
The Tab of the Gutenberg Cup 2010 is available on DCJG’s. It was already after the preliminary rounds that Tübingen’s team Streitkultur Dionysos was a probable candidate for the title of “Master of the Jokes”.
A first ranking after FDL’s opening competition can be found on the league’s website. Now, Streitkultur Tübingen is at the top of the new hit list followed by DCJG Mainz. Upcoming ...
