Vienna EUDC 2015 – Starting SoonFrom coming Sunday on, the European Debating Championship (EUDC) 2015 in Vienna will take place. The tournament starts on August 2 and ends on Saturday, August 8. Austrian Debating Championship ÖDM 2013

Have you ever been to Salzburg? Well, you should visit the beautiful austrian city. A good oportunity to do so could be the Austrian Debating Championship, in German Österreichische Debattiermeisterschaft or ÖDM. The Tournament is to be held on february 8 to 10. Language of the tournament is German, the format will be OPD. At least 15 teams can participate. The tournament is an open. Chief adjudicators are Salzburgs very own KayMichael Dankl and Nicolas Eberle from Mainz. Registration will be able from october on. No joke: You all have to re-register for Galway Euros, as convenor Nollaig O'Scannlainn revealed in a mail to the international debating community. During yesterday's registration process the system failed, hence not everybody could register for this year's European Universities Debating Championships. The order of registration cannot be guaranteed as of now. So in the interest of fairness, the registration will be repeated for all institutions on 2 March at 12 a.m. GMT, that is 1 p.m. in Berlin, 2 p.m. in Jerusalem and 3 p.m. in Moscow. The German debating circuit meets at ZEIT DEBATTE Mainz

The next big event of the ZEIT DEBATTEN series starts today! Everybody on the German debating circuit is on their way to Mainz. The convenors allure to German speaking debaters with a new breaking system new to the format of OPD (open parliamentary debate) which allows all speakers to enjoy five debates instead of the usual three. Mainz won Streitkultur Cup 2010

Marc Lenzke, Marcus Ewald and Isabelle Loewe (DC Bonn) won the prestigious Streitkultur Cup in Tübingen. They defeated as team for Debattierclub Johannes Gutenberg Mainz (DCJG) another DCJG team consisting of Sina Strupp, Jan Papsch and Nicolas Eberle. The final was completed by the three Free Speakers Lea Weitekamp (Bonn), Hauke Blume (Berlin) and Wladi Jachtschenko (München). Judges of the final were Mario Dießner, Jenny Bachmann (Karlsruhe) and Daniel Grotzky (München/Zürich), president was Gudrun Lux (Mainz/Bonn).
