Tel Aviv wins European Round Robin 2019

The team Tel Aviv MD (Tom Manor, Noam Dahan) has triumphed at the European Round Robin 2019 in Warsaw. As Closing Government, the reigning EUDC champions defeated Opening Government Belgrade MS (Milos Marjanovic, Stefan Siridžanski), Opening Opposition Steven/Sella (Steven Rajavinothan, Sella Nevo) and Closing Opposition Tan/Marshall (Teck Wei Tan, Raffy Marshall). The motion read "This House prefers a world where family love was seen as unconditional as opposed to conditional".
The final was judged by Gigi Gil (chair), Harish Natarajan, Przemek Stolarski, Kit Mercer and Tudor Musat.

The World Universities Debating Championship (WUDC) 2019 in Cape Town, which took place 28.12.18-03.01.19, has ended with victories for teams from Sydney, Hebrew Jerusalem and Keio A. The holding of the Open final was accompanied by protests of the Black-African debate community.

Harvard, Oxford and Comillas are the champions for 2018
The World Universities Debating Championship (WUDC) 2018 in Mexico, which took place 28.12.17-04.01.18, are concluded and the champions for the three language categories have emerged. Open Champion is Harvard, ESL-Champion is Oxford and EFL-Champion is Comillas. The finals were hosted in the historical Teatro de la Ciudad Esperanza Iris in the centre of Mexico-City.

WUDC 2018 – The Break
Once again the anglophone World Universities Debating Championship (WUDC) took place during the turn of the year. This year's location was Mexico City. The tournament started the 27.12.17 and ended the 04.01.18. After nine preliminary rounds the teams breaking to the outrounds were announced on New Year's Eve. At the WUDC, teams participate classified as one of three language categories: EPL (English as a Proficient Language), ESL (English as a Second Language) and EFL (English as a Foreign Language). Breaking 9th seed, Darion Hotan and Sam van Elk from Kings College London proceed to win the 2017 Oxford Intervarsity. Traditionally, and before the WUDC pre-rounds begin on December 29th, there area few events worth noticing. These include pre-council meetings, the Women's Forum, and other opportunities for exchange. Amongst them is another event worth noticing: the Masters competition. All interested WUDC judges are allowed to sign up in teams for two rounds to show their speaking skills before they judge those of others. Dutch WUDC 2017
From December 27th to January 4th the WUDC, the world's largest debating tournament, takes place in The Hague in the Netherlands. As with most international tournaments, debates will be held in British Parliamentary Style and in English. The CA team consists of Syed Saddiq, Karin Merckens, Hyewon Rho, Michael Dunn Goekjian, Omer Nevo, Jodie O'Neill, Veenu Goswami, Yashodhan Nair and Ingrid Rodríguez. Centrale Open 2016
From Friday, December 9th, til Sunday, December 11th, the Centrale Open 2016 takes place in Paris.
Since this is an international tournament, debates will be held in British Parliament Style and in English. Following five preliminary rounds, there'll be semi finals and a final, as well as an ESL final. In the ESL category, Berlin A, Lund A, Belgrade B and BBU A made it through the semi-finals with the motion "This house believes that leaders of minority religions in Europe should strongly encourage their congregations to refrain from public displays of their faith".
