The German debating Championship will be staged in Heidelberg from 9 to 12 June. Format will be the Open Parliamentary Debate (OPD) widely spread in the German speaking debating circuit. The Debating Club Heidelberg (DCH), then German debating champion in 2004, will now be host to Germany’s largest tournament. Chief adjudicators are going to be Gudrun Lux, Jan Lüken, Marcus Ewald and Tim Richter.

Anmeldung zur 11. Deutschen Meisterschaft eröffnet
Registration for the German Debating Championship is open from now on! Debating societies which are members of VDCH (Verband der Debattierclubs an Hochschulen, engl. Association of Debating Societies at Universities) are allowed to register their teams for the biggest annual debating tournament in Germany. Teams from Germany itself, Switzerland, Austria and maybe even Italy are expected to participate. Registration details are published online, see www.ddm-heidelberg.de.

Heidelberg wins Western German Championship / Potsdam wins Eastern German Championship / Kiel wins Northern German Championship /
We proudly present the winners of this year's German regionals:
Heidelberg won the Western German regional.
Potsdam won the Eastern German regional.
Kiel won the Northern German regional.
On the weekend previous to the other regionals, Tübingen won the Southern German regional.

CAs for German Debating Championship 2011 announced
The Debating Club Heidelberg announced the German Debating Championship's complete CA team. Former VDCH-president and Western German Champion of 2008 Tim Richter from the Debattierclub Bonn will join the already announced Chief adjudicators Gudrun Lux (Debattierclub Bonn), Jan Lüken (WFI Debattierclub Ingolstadt) and Marcus Ewald (DCJG Mainz).
The German debating Championship will be staged in Heidelberg from 9 to 12 June 2011. Format will be OPD, the open parliamentary debate widely spread in the German speaking debating circuit. Baden-Württemberg is looking for her debating champion
For the Baden-Württembergian Championship (BaWü), teams from Freiburg, Karlsruhe, Tübingen and Stuttgart flock to Heidelberg. But since BaWü is an open competition, teams from Bayreuth, Frankfurt/Main, Göttingen, Jena, Mainz, München and St. Gallen followed the invitation of Debating Club Heidelberg (DCH) - 21 teams are going to be fighting for the championship. The format will be Offene Parlamentarische Debatte, a set of debating rules widely spread in Germany, espacially in the South.
