Am 22. und 23. März fand das Maastricht Open in den Niederlanden statt. Dabei gelang es einem Team aus dem VDCH-Land, den Sieg zu erringen!

Das Team DCAC Bakhauv (Jonathan Krapp, Josef Hoppe) konnte sich im Finale zum Thema “This House Regrets the Maastricht Treaty” aus der Schließenden Opposition gegen The Dutch eradicated the dodo (Helena Hecke, Raoul Meijer) in der Eröffnenden Regierung, Josip Bros (Maj Hrovatin, Maša Cvetežar) in der Eröffnenden Opposition und Broke with no hustle but you blame (Idan Ben Avi, Leon Kersten) in der Schließenden Regierung durchsetzen. Das Finale wurde juriert von Victor Johannes Bervoets im Chair zusammen mit Joep van Heugten, Navid, Oana Nitu und Theo Dorfner.

Insgesamt war der VDCH mit fünf Teams, drei Jurierenden und einer Chefjurorin auf dem Turnier vertreten. Dabei breakte mit Breaking is Bourgeois (Takeshi, Max Kubis) ein weiteres VDCH-Team ins Halbfinale. Victor Johannes Bervoets und Theo Dorfner breakten als Jurierende – Victor chairte das Finale, Theo chairte ein Halbfinale und jurierte das Finale. Paula Breyer war Teil der Chefjury und jurierte außerdem ein Halbfinale.

Das Turnier wurde vom Debattierclub Eloquentia Maastricht ausgerichtet. Für den sportlichen Teil verantwortlich war die Chefjury, bestehend aus Paula Breyer, Oana Nitu und Djordje Radosavljevic. Unterstützt wurden sie dabei vom Tabmaster Daan Koning.

Infoslide: Sextremism is a form of activism which places female sexuality at the centre of the fight against patriarchy. It is used both as a form of protest and also in women’s daily lives, with the goal of empowering female sexuality and mocking gender norms. Examples of sextremism include reclaiming the term „slut“ and using nudity as a form of protest by exposing one’s bare breasts.

This House Supports sextremist activism.

Semifinal:

This House Would transfer the management of all water resources (e.g. minerals in the deep sea, fishing rights, right of passage) to an international body.
