WUDC 2013: The Break

WUDC 2013: The BreakIt took until after midnight that the WUDC 2013 break coul be announced in Berlin. The CA-team took its time to sort out which 100 (!) judges broke into the break knockout rounds. Especially, they had to handel the new 48-team break for the first time which lets 16 teams break into octo-finals directly and sends 32 more teams into mock-octos (read here what that is). FDL: Berlin wins Dresden tournament / Mainz top FDL team

Georg Sommerfeld and Bruno Davids of Berlin Debating Union (BDU) won Saggsn Masders 2012, a tournament in the Saxonian capital Dresden. Georg was also awarded best speaker of the final. The other final teams were from Mainz (Willy Witthaut and Betty Braun) and of BDU: Sarah von Kaminietz and Martin Funck, and Hauke Blume and Marijana Todorovich). Stuttgart Punk – A teaser on the upcoming ZEIT DEBATTE

After five prelims, team Freiburg Türme, Zsolt Szilagyi and Friedemann Groth, won the final of Stuttgart Punk on the past weekend. The motion read "Dieses Haus würde Vegetarier werden", or this house would become vegetarian. Best speaker of the final was Clemens Fucker from Debattierclub Johannes Gutenberg Mainz. Chief adjudicators Sarah Kempf, Nils Haneklaus and Andreas Lazar made up motions for five prelims and a final: 1.
