Cambridge gewinnt Charlemagne Open 2026
Am 26. und 27. September fand das Charlemagne Open in Aachen statt. Nach fünf Vorrunden, Halbfinals und einem Finale gewannen Theo Innes und Rayaan Aly Khan aus Cambridge das Turnier.

Theo und Rayaan redeten im Finale in der Schließenden Opposition zum Thema “THR the Treaty of Versailles” gegen Leon Kersten und Ida Ben Avi (Eindhoven) in der Eröffnenden Regierung, Klara Šeatović und Lana Avramović (Tilburg) in der Eröffnenden Opposition und Meagan Tam, Esther Lüscher (Open Team) in der Schließenden Regierung. Das Finale wurde juriert von
Lea Pogač (IA) im Chair, Kaloyan Kotzev (Rotterdam) und Zainab Sardar (Edinburgh).
Das Turnier wurde vom Debattierclub Aachen ausgerichtet und von Jana Bakhtiyari und Ethan Ju Ming Khor hauptorganisiert. Für den sportlichen Teil verantwortlich war die Chefjury, bestehend aus Leander Mathissen, dem Siegerteam des Vorjahres Aniket Godbole und Olivia Arbour, sowie als Deputy CA Mirtel Etverk. Unterstützt wurden sie dabei von Samanta Martinewski als Tabmasterin.
Das beste Novice-Team war das Team “Break or Key” (Jonathan Mendel, Kristian Allmendinger; Open Team).
